Rental Agreement and Cancellation Policy for Papakea E310 (VRBO site 434898) between Ray Prasad and Guest(s) of Papakea E310
Rental payment from US guests is due by eCheck. Personal check is accepted on exception basis since there is potential for delay in USPS or overseas delivery. Canadian and other overseas guests need to pay by bank check drawn in US funds.
The personal checks by US guests and Bank checks by overseas guests need to be mailed by postal mail or FedEx. Again, since this is done on exception basis for mutual safety, we will provide you the mailing address at the time of mailing.
eCheck by US guests and Bank checks by overseas guests should not cost anything either to you or to me.
If you book theis unit through VRBO, you will have to pay credit card fee of 3.5% (5.5% for overseas guests to cover added currency conversion fee). You have to pay VRBO service fee as well. The way to avoid VRBO service fee ranging from $100 to $500 and also the credit card fee is to deal directly with me – the owner (email: MauiPapakeaE310@aol.com). These are just some cost saving ideas for your consideration.
The following notes are also part of this rental agreement:
ADDITIONAL $15/night PER PERSON OVER TWO ADULTS.
- The rental rates are for maximum of two adults
- Additional persons may be allowed on exception basis at added cost of $15/person/ night
- 50% of payment is due at the time of booking and the remainder is due 90 days before check in date.
- Damage deposit of $300, if collected, is refunded in full (minus credit card fee if applicable), assuming no damage, within one week of check out date.
Resort or Facilities Fee by Papakea Resort
Like all resorts in West Maui, Papakea Resort collects a $17/night resort fee to cover parking, water aerobics, Yoga, pool/hot tub access, shuffleboard, cable TV, and Internet access etc. This fee is NOT paid to us, the owners, but instead to the front desk at the time of your check out for the first 10 days of your stay, per month (Maximum is $170 for each 30 day stay). Although nobody likes additional fees, including the owners since they must also pay the same $17/night resort fee, many of the other resorts in West Maui are in the $20 – $31/day range. Papakea is well below the average rate in this regard. Also this fee applies to us, the owners as well.
Our cancellation Policy:
Unlike a hotel with multiple rooms, you are renting directly from an owner who has reserved this condo exclusively for you. Once you book it, this unit is unavailable to any other potential renters. In case you cancel, no refund is made.
If you do not feel comfortable with our cancellation policy, we highly recommend that you go through VRBO and purchase cancellation insurance policy through VRBO at a nominal cost (varies with the dollar amount of insurance coverage, please contact VRBO for quote. Please ask VRBO for details before you purchase it. It is entirely your decision to purchase insurance policy provided by VRBO or any other insurance company.
By renting this Papakea unit E310 from Ray Prasad, the owner, you, the guest(s), agree to all the terms and conditions mentioned herein.
