Transportation Options in Maui from Kahului Airport (OGG) to Condo Units E 205 or E 310 in Papakea resort, Building E

You have the following options for local transportation.

  1. Rent a car especially if you plan to see other parts of the island. You will find all the major rental companies at Kahului airport. Through either your airline site or various travel sites, you should be able to compare their rates.
  2. Use the airport shuttle. It does make stops and cost about $70/person. Number 1-808-242-7777.
  3. Take a taxi on arrival. Cost $100.
  4. Call Papakea Front desk and ask them to reserve a taxi for you. You need to call at least 2 hour before arrival or a day before arrival. Cost around $70. Remember: You do need to call at least 2 hours in advance. The front desk number is (808) 669-4848.

Public Bus: There is a bus service right in front the Papakea resort, every hour. It costs two dollars (one day pass costs $4.00).  Bus is good for short trips if you don’t want the hassle of parking or you had enough beach walk for the day and want to take a bus on your return trip.

If you need the car only for few days, you can return the car near Papakea resort (and the car company will give you ride back to Papakea resort) but they charge $40 drop off fee. You can also rent the car back there and drop it off at the airport. But you will have to pay $40 drop off fee again.

One more thing: Many people do their grocery shopping at Costco which is couple of blocks from the airport. In that case you do need a car. However, the grocery store right in front of the Papakea resort (Times Market) is very good and just as reasonable and you don’t have to buy Costco size grocery.

Also there is Farmer’s market and Organic Grocery store barely 2 blocks away.

No grocery shopping? No problem. There are many very good restaurants in Maui.
